For a week or two now, every time I boot up I get a
message telling me that there has been a fault with
winocx32.exe and that I should send an error report to
Microsoft, which I do. Is there anything I can do to fix
the problem and/or get rid of the message?

From the hits I am getting w/Google this file (winocx32) points to the
Protoride Virus. Do you have an UPDATED Anti-Virus program running?
Here is the information I was able to find:

After further investigating, it appears to possibly be the "Protoride Worm
Virus"...see:

It isn't a XP system file. Run a virus scan . Jym"

You might want to do some checking in your System Files, Owner Files and
running processes- look for this file and see if you can find the root file.

-----Original Message-----
I am having the same problem of error messages for these
two exe files coming up when I reboot my machine. If
anybody has an idea for this it would be great. My
Norton anti-virus is up-to-date and seems like all is in
order.
Thanks.
