I have update from McAfee VirusScan V8 to V9 and when the software Updates I
get the following messgae

A Runtime error has occured
Do you wish to Debug ?

Line 670
Error Permission denied : 'window.location.replace'

I have tried changing Internet Explorer Options Advanced to Debugging On &
then off but this pesky error remains

Any ideas ?

I have spent 90 mins "chatting" to McAfee Experts Online and have tried
several fixes but they ain't worked

Thanks

Hi VeryOldMan1 :-)

First...put McAfee.com into your trusted sites area.

If this does not work, then see the following:

How do I install or update any McAfee software if the download freezes?

Make sure that the Pop up blocker within Windows XP Service Pack 2 is turned
off:
Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Pop-up Blocker, and Turn off Pop-up
Blocker.

Make sure that your Active X controls are enabled.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Manage Add-ons, by Show make sure
that you check both categories, and enable all the McAfee Active X controls.

If Internet Explorer isn't set as the default browser or if some of it's
security settings are set to high it can cause this. This web site has the
steps that you need to do in order to configure Internet Explorer.

also...

What kind of Rights does this particular Windows User Name have? Perhaps
they are Limited?

Maybe Scripting is turned off? Not ActiveX scripting but the ones under Java
etc...

and..your problem could be caused by malware or a parasite on your system.

Hope this helps :-)
