Can you tell me what is wrong with my Windows XP or the connection between
my dial-up and Windows XP or what is making my browser not work? I can't find
the problems.
Windows will not work anymore, my dial-up connection is working and shows
it's connected to the internet down on the notification area. But when the
Internet Explorer window opens up I receive this error message every time
now: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage - Windows Internet Explorer
provided by Yahoo! Below this it tells the "Most likely causes and all (3)
three causes are not the problem to my knowledge. So on the part that say
"what you can try" I do the Diagnose Connection Problems (even though I have
dial up and not DSL) and I view diagnostic log that is in RED and it saids :
Network adapter status and also HTTP. HTTPS, FTP connectivity "HTTP: Error
12007 connecting to www.micrsof.com The server name or address could not be
resolved it" and it saids that for www.hotmail.com and passport.net. It goes
on and saids the FTP (Passive): Error 12007 connecting to fip.microsoft.com:
The server name or address could not be resolved. It ends with Could not make
as HTTP, HTTPS and FTP connection.
At first I thought it was a add-on in the browser, so I disabled all
add-ons. And restarted my computer with them off and got the same error again
( Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage). I checked within the
internet Options for any changes and found non, all settings was set at their
default
General tab shows yahoo.com as my home page, Security tab shows level zone
at Medium-High, Privacy tab zone at Medium, Connections tab at Always dial my
default connection, Programs tab has the check mark Tell me if Internet
Explorer is not the default web browser, and Advance tab looked okay so I
clicked the "reset" button just to be sure and restarted my computer again
and still no change in it's behavior, I still can't get windows to open up to
my home page just the Error page and be on-line.
I have a TOSHIBA Satellite L25 Series which is 3 years old and never has had
a virus.
Can you tell me what is wrong with my Windows XP or the connection between
