Error opening Exchange system e-mails. Outside mail opens fine

I recently rebuilt a PC here in the office. Installing Win2K, and Office XP,
all required patches for both the OS and Office. The user logs in and can't
open any messages sent through our exchange server...interoffice mail. Any
outside e-mail from outside domains can be opened no problem. So I opened
Outlook Web mail and have no problem as the user opening all e-mails though
web outlook.

I do receive an error message when I try to open an internal e-mail. It
points to kernel32.dll and outlook version 10. It's not really a decent
error and really doesn't give much info. It also shuts down outlook and
opens it back up when the error happens. Everything else on the PC works
great...word...excel...powerpoint.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well after a few days I think I have it figured out... Are you sitting
down??? A bad CDROM drive!

Stay with me now.....All software on the PC was loaded using the drive that
came with the system. I noticed that it took a really long time to read
certain CD's that I know were known good and working. Finally I had enough
so I decided to rebuild the machine again, but on a hunch I replaced the
cdrom with another new one. When I booted from the Windows 2000 cd for the
first time with the new drive installed, it only took it's usual minute and
30 seconds to bring the setup screen up. With the old CD drive it took 8-10
minutes to get to the Windows 2000 setup screen.

I assume what happened was due to the faulty drive when I was re-loading
OfficeXP not all of the files were properly installed or registry keys setup,
causing the issue. I have since swapped out the CD drive and am currently
re-installing all software, but as of right now I can see the difference.

Just though I would update this ticket . Thanks again for your prompt help!

Hmm, I wonder if it was related because medium errors are quite well
documented and indicated. But it was definitely another thing not right with
the system.

Thanks for updating the post! :-)
