Error opening a report

We design a software that we send out to users that place it on their PC,
they are getting the error saying "the document was previously formatted for
the printer....." What can we do internally for this report so that users
will not have to see this error everytime they use our software?

You should do two things:

1. Open the Report in Design View, right-click on the Report and select
Properties from the shortcut menu. In the Format tab, change the "Layout for
Print" setting to "No".

AND

2. In the main menu (while still in Design View), go to File and select Page
Setup. In the Page tab change the Printer option to "Default Printer".

This should eliminate the problem.

If this is done in our office once, will this stop it from happening
everytime someone downloads or software on their computer? I just wanted to
confirm that they wouldnt have to do this once they download the software?
Thanks.

They should no longer receive an error message. However, if you select a
page size for the report that is not supported by the default printer on the
user's computer, then the report will revert to letter page size when it is
opened.

This wil not cause an error, but will obviously ruin the intended format of
the report.
