error on .pps files from email

I have XP and my husband and I have different accounts
and both are set up as administrators. When he receives
emails with .pps or .ppt attachments and tries to view
them he gets an error from power point stating that Power
Point (PP) can't read the file because it appears not to
be a PP file. Now when I receive the same email I have no
problem viewing it as long as I am logged in to my XP
account. He can check his email inbox while logged on to
my XP account and then he can view his pps attachments.
The only way he can view PP slide shows while on his XP
account is if instead of opening the attachment he saves
it to his documents folder and then open it from there.
Other than that his PP works fine. Why is this? What can
we do to fix this?
