MOM alerted that all 4 DC's on 4 out of 4 branch offices experienced
replications issues when communicating to the MainOffice DC's.

Then I go to the respective DCBranchOffice1, I run dcdiag /v and I see an
error related to OfficeDC2:
"Starting test: KnowsOfRoleHolders
Role Schema Owner = CN=NTDS Settings,CN=OfficeDC2,CN=Servers...
[OfficeDC2] DsBind() failed with error -2146893022
The target principal name is incorrect...
Warning:OfficeDC2 is the Schema Owner, but is not responding to DS RPC Bind.

Then if I run dcdiag /v on the respective OfficeDC2, I get no errors at all.
All remote office DC's report same 'target principal name is incorrect' on
OfficeDC2.

I saw an article 288167, but that applied only to Win2000Sp1.

This is a Win2000SP4 AD environment.
Any idea on how to fix this ?

Sometimes the APPLIES TO section reports wrong SP level. I'll suggest if you
check your event log and you have the matching event, then you can still
follows the KB to troubleshoot. The error could occur if there is problem
with the secure channel.
