Everytime I boot my machine I get a Windows Defender box saying "Failed to
Initialize" with an error code. This has been happening ever since I
installed the program. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the
program. Anybody have any info on this? Thanks.

Hello JKB,

The Windows Defender service depends on RPC--so be sure that RPC is not
disªbled.

Task Scheduler needs to be availªble.

Do you have automatic updates turned on--for Windºws?

Can you go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered
updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com

You can repair Windows Defender.
First exit WD; using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click WD and
click
Repªir.

I hope this post is helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, They didn't solve the problem. I
notice that if I run a search using the error code, that some people have had
the same problem and it has not been addressed by Microsoft. As I said the
program seems to function fine although it never finds anything. Just
somemore info.
