error occurred while receiving the fax, XP

I keep getting this error in XP. Modem works fine for
dial up and surfing, have latest drivers, transmits fine,
just the error receiving. I've adjusted the modem for
the most amount of error correction with no change.
any ideas?

it was a modem problem. internet use was fine, fax use was not. put in a replacement and it solved the problem.
