Sandy

I get this error message when I try to update windows.
When I try to update my Norton Antivirus, I get a error
message that my internet browser is out of date with the
4.0 version. I know I have the 6.0 version. This is
caused by virus/worm or ******* hacker or all 3 living in
my computer. I can hear the hacker talking to his female
friend very faintly and have typed messages on my computer
asking him to leave. No I am not crazy, he is there,
trust me. Please help.

Thanks

First off the best solution is to rebuilt your computer by reformatting your hard
drive, reinstalling the operating system, restoring your data, and securing your
computer before you ever connect to the internet again by using a firewall, antivirus
software that scans all of your emails and is kept current for virus definitions, and
installing critical updates from Windows Updates and keeping them current. This is
explained in the first link below and the second link is to free firewall software
such as Zone Alarm that is a good product for novices. If you don't know how to do
this, then find or pay someone to do it.

Having said that, if you want to try and do some repairs as is understanding that
very possibly they may not help 100 percent. I suggest you try a free online site to
scan for viruses and worms. There is also a free Stinger Tool from McAfee in a link
below that can detect and remove many common worms and viruses. In addition download
and run AdAware to scan for and hopefully remove parasites. Be sure to update it
before scanning and you will be given the opportunity to when you open the program.
If you are not using a firewall, you need to install one first or use a router at
your cable/dsl modem as there is no sense trying to repair a computer that will get
hacked or reinfected right away again. --- Steve
