Error: Not enough server storge space available

M

Matt

I am getting "Not enough server storage space is
available" when performing multiple different functions
in AD. In one case I get this message when right
clicking on AD USers and Computers and selecting "Connect
to Domain Controller". The exact message on this one
is "The list of domain controllers for domain.name.com is
unavailable because: Not enough storage space is
available to complete this operation." The same message
shows up when performing this on Sites and Services as
well. A couple times time we have seen a very similar
message when adding a user to a group. This problem just
started withing the last couple days. Any ideas or
suggestions?

Hi Matt-

If you run DCDIAG /V against the DCs you are seeing problems on (or run a
DCDIAG /E for your enterprise) do these machines display any failures?

What service pack level is the DC? Does a NETDIAG /V show any problems as
well?

We have seen a similar problem when there are a lot of group memberships
(greater than 70 or so) for the user running the test (currently logged on),
or when there is low memory available.

The NETDIAG /V may give a better idea. You could also try rebooting the
server to see if that made a difference. If it does, that could more
strongly indicate memory as a factor.

It's also possible that group memberships or low memory are masking the
actual issue. But let's see the NETDIAG.
