Error - None of the authentication methods are supported

I’m using Office 2010. I’m trying to set up my Outlook using gmail. I
followed the example here:
http://www.vista4beginners.com/Windows-Mail-Gmail

I’m getting an error message that reads: ‘Send/Receive error – click here’
Task – (e-mail address removed) – sending reported error (0x800CCC80) None of
the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your
server.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you read Google's Help pages for how to configure a mail account? Please
