First, thanks for your time.
Two Gateway dt's crashed from deciphering Netsky source
code. THIS comp is new little Dell toy.
PROB: on Gate #1,trying to get it running again. can log
on, access SOME apps. HELP files are GONE. Unable to use
RESTORE, wiped out. Have run everything to rebuild, etc.
Since IE and OE are corrupted, just tried to INSTALL a
new DL of it but got "THE SOFTWARE YOU ARE INSTALLING HAS
NOT PASSED WINDOWS LOGO TESTING". great, huh?
I have KB828031 and 823798, etc. I get almost to the end
of the Install and get the "NOT PASSED" msg. any ideas?
ALSO if this can not be done, may have to reinstall XP
