Error msg when trying to Export .pst file .. HELP!!

We have a user that simply wants to make a backup of his "sent items" folder in outlook. Normally all that would need to be done is export the folder in .pst format and save it on the file server and he would be all set.. Instead Outlook is giving an error which states

"The operation failed." and the more annoying message is

"Error while archiving folder 'Some items could not be copied. They were either moved or delted, or access was denied.

The normal place he would save this PST file is on our file server which he has plenty of space to complete this operation. By the way, his "sent items" folder is approx 22 mbs in size..

Could the size of the folder be the cause? Please help!!! Thanks in advance.
 
Try exporting to a file on his machine as storing a pst-file on a
networkshare is not recommended/supported by Microsoft. The pst-file has
never been designed for this.

Check how many items you are copying at once. I get that same message when
I try to move too many messages for memory to handle.

Is there a way to only select a few message to export at a time as opposed to all 4000??
 
Move them by hand is the most reliable method with this.

Create a new PST file and copy the messages you wish to save to the second
PST. Copy that PST to the folder where the backup is to be stored.
