Error Msg on Log off/Restart/Turn off

After installing WinXP SP2 my system is showing error message on every log
off, restart or Turn off. The message, "If you chose to end your program
immediately you may lose unsaved data" appears for 2-3 secs before the log
off, restart or Turn off. Apparently my system is working fine and seems to
have no probs. I checked if any application was running just before I end my
session via Task Manager, but no application was running. Then why? the error
message??

My OS is WinXP Pro.

Anyone got an answer to this little annoying problem? may kind help.

Hi

Have you any idea which program is generating the error message? Have a
look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries there may point towards the
problem.

Checked the Event Viewer, but found nothing unsual. The message that appears
just after I Log off/Restart/Turn off on second look might not be an error
message in itself (may be). It appears just for about 2 secs and appears to
be something like " Ending Program Please Wait...................... All
unsaved datas will be lost". I don't know if it is usual for it to appear.
Before I hadn't had any message like it or whatever it is just as I Turn off.

If it is usual Please do confirm to clear my doubts. Checking it why ? and
Turning off & on my PC many times to see exactly what the message was, almost
crashed my system. I could'nt boot event in safe mode/command mode after a
restart. I almost re-istalled my system, but tried for a last time after a
complete shut down and luckily it booted in normal mode without any
prompting.

Do help if u can plz.

Hi

It sounds as though you may have a program running that is taking longer to
shutdown than the time allowed by Windows - 20 seconds I believe. It may
not be a problem, just that it is a bit too long to close. See if you can
see which program it may be, but looking at the top left hand side of the
error message when it next appears.

Hi Denny,

I disabled my Virtual Memory paging to log on and off quickly could it be
the reason?
