I use Windows XP. I have a cd drive and a cd-r in that drive. My cd drive has
no problem creating music cd's. However, I have tried to copy my vacation
pics from their folder in 'shared pics' to a cd that is designed for photos
and even to other types of cd-r and cd-rw's, but I continue to get a pop-up
error msg that says "D:/ IS INACCESIBLE. INCORRECT FUNCTION" ... I have used
every suggestion found in Windows XP Help topics and I get the same thing.
Can anyone help me here? I am at a loss.

Thank you very much, John! Those articles did answer my question and the
problem is now fixed. The problem was the CD Creator 5... I downloaded the
fix and I now have cd's of my vacation pics! Thanks for being a volunteer!

Help!

I have two problems:

1. Disappearing photos from my hard drive
I have Windows XP and have been archiving my photos on my Toshiba Satellite
P15-S420 Notebook Computer for the past several years. There are over 11,000
photos. I sometimes look at photos by clicking on a folder and then click
"Thumbnail" and the photos are shown.

A week ago, I discovered that I could not "see" several hundred photos in
about 30 of my 100+ folders when I click "Thumbnails." Instead of a photo,
there appears a generic picture of a sailboat on a lake with a setting sun.
If I click "Details," on an affected folder, I noticed that there are four
columns shown: Name, Size, Type and Date Modified
Photos that are still visible have four columns: Name, Size, Type, Date
Modified, Date Picture Taken and Dimensions.

I went through every folder of my photos and I re-down-loaded the missing
photos with no problems.

Last night, I did another scan of every folder in my hard drive and
discovered that another 20+ folders have been affected! What's happening?

2. Last night I was copying photos from my hard drive to a brand new
SanDisk, 2GB CF card. I had no problems with the first 599 photos. Then
problems with 0600 through 0691 - "Error Copying File or Folder - cannot copy
IMG_0600: the directory or file cannot be created." I could copy 0692 and
after, but several other photos resulted in the same error message. Changing
CF cards did not solve the problem either.

HELP!
Thanks,
AK

For your second question...

There is a limit to the number of files you can
add to the Root Directory of a memory card.
This can be overcome by simpy creating
folders to copy them into..
