Error:Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close

I am encountering the above problem on Win 98.I installed
6.0.2800.1106 vesion of Internet Explorer.It is showing
error in modname ycomp5_3_12_0.dll.Please help me if anyone
knows the solution

uninstall the toolbar. You may or may not be able to reinstall it. It's
troublesome on some systems.

I can'ty get explorer to launch to remove the companion from the toolbar as instructed. Any suggestions?

OMG!!!! I finally used my head after the last reply and after writing
yahoo. I simply went to Add and remove and removed the companion and
.....tadah.....I have my IE back. Thanks a whole bunch. This has cost me
way too much time trubleshooting.
