I sit here and I read all of these similar posts of how IE6 cannot display
certain webpages giving us the "This page cannot be displayed" message. And I
see there are many posts on replys on this. All of these problems and yet a
solution to them has not been announced. Like many of you I am having the
same "Page not displayed" error, and I know its a drag not being able to go
to some websites you need to go, but what I am wondering is how come
Microsoft has yet to give us an answer. If not an answer, letting us know
that they understand the situation and are acctually trying to fix it. After
all, I'm sure many of us did not have this problem before SP1 was released.

have you killed the windows xp firewall. just uncheck
everything in the security (lol) center.
and of course check for spyware bugs in your system
especially if you have a compaq.
try spybot safer-networking.org.
a firewall choice is the free zonealarm from zonelabs.com

I am having the same problem, but i can't access any web
pages or refresh outlook!! i'm using version 6 on Windows
98, i think it is a problem with DNS??? not sure what DNS
is either? can somebody tell me what i should be doing in
Windows 98 with version 6?

i've contacted my service provider...very helpful and

I don't know about Anthony, but I'm having the same
irritating issue. I've killed the firewall, restarted the
computer, accepted tls and whatever the other two were,
tried denying tls and whatever the other two were,
disabled my anti-virus system, wiped out the security
centre, scanned my computer for viruses, done just about
everything imaginable to Internet Options, and I have got
NOWHERE. What am I supposed to do? Why does this happen?

I already did what you suggest, and it only let the
Drudgereport open. I still cannot get Google to open;
Yahoo search does work, albeit sometimes slowly. I
dropped my security setting to bottom, allow all cookies,
popup blocker is off, still no worky. Is there something
else? SP2 did it to me as well; how can I get SP1 back?
I lost my calculator and solitaire too.

OH YEAH EVERYONE, THIS "PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED" AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO
TWO (2) OF MY FAVORITE WEBSITES AFTER DOWNLOADING THE XP SP2 HAS MADE ME
SICK, REALLY SICK. Sorry about the capital letters but I want everyone to
notice this. I have been working with computers for over ten (10) years or
more and have always kept my computer in immaculant condition, that is until
now...After downloading the SP2 I thought great, now this will help make
everything more secure and will help with the wireless networking situation.
It did alright but when it did that it also took away one of my most favorite
websites ever. I have emailed windows support and have talked to at least
eight (8) Microsoft Windows Representatives and have spent countless hours on
the phone with them and my issue has still not been resolved. What's going
on here. Instead of troubleshooting being made simpler, it has been made
harder. I have scanned and clicked and scanned and clicked and scanned some
more and clicked and downloaded and uninstalled and downloaded some more and
uninstalled and the windows expert also gave me files that weren't right for
my computer and after all of that I still can't connect to these websites.
They are suppose to call me back tomorrow but I believe that I have even
stumped the Microsoft Professionals - So far, they don't know what is going
on. Everyone please pray for all of us whom are having this problem. I just
had to write when I have seen over and over and over just how frustrated all
of Microsoft Windows XP customers seem to be. Please Microsoft, figure out
what has happened to us being able to access the website that we need the
most. It's my business lifeline and livelihood and as of right now I am out
of business which is costing me my salary. If anyone out there has any
advice, please send. I have tried just about everything so whats one more.
Thanks so much for everyone's time. Thanks in advance for anything anyone may
be able to do.
