I need some help, please. My computer had some bugs so I ran norton antivirus, which took care of it. Then I ran system mechanic 4. I think I did something wrong because now when I log on my desktop comes up fine but I get this error message that says: C:\Windows\downloadprogramfiles\bridge.dll and under that it says: the specified module could not be found. Items on my desktop seem to load a little slower and exit a little slower. If I deleted that file, how can I find it and put it back? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It is probably part of a program that you have downloaded . Find the program
which contains the file and uninstall or reinstall. Jym

You don't want that file back, it is part of a spyware program. Apparently
there was a reference to this file in the start up modules of XP.

I suggest you get the free versions of AdAware and Spybot to help remove
these files and references.

Bridge.dll is used as part of spyware. What happens after the program is deleted by AdAware or SpyBot SD, the pointers remain so you keep getting the start-up error message. The easiest way to clean it out is to use HiJack This. The program gives you a log sheet and the folks at Computer Cops can then review it and tell you which lines need to be fixed, which HiJack This can do. They can be found at http://computercops.biz

It worked for me.
