error message

When I start my computer it gives me the message "lcfinst.exe has a problem and needs to close. sorry for the inconvenience." When I searched for the file I found windows/system32/cba/lcfinst but it won't open. I also found lcfinst.exe.mdmp in /local/temp/WER1.tmp.dir00 and in /....dir01 and lcfinst.exe.hdmp in /....dir01 I looked up the extentions and they appear to be part of the microsoft trouble reporting program. When I try to open any of the latter files I get a message that windows does not recognize the extentions. If anyone can help me with a possible solution, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
 
This is either related to a German third party game or the Intel LAN Client
Manager, start your troubleshooting from there.
