multi(o)disk(o)ordisk(0)partion(1)windows\sys32\drivers
What does this mean. I cant reboot and I tried to use my
restore cd(s), the computer tells me to enter the 2nd CD,
but then it trys to restart WinXP and brings me back to a
message that the system suffered a power surge,or
hardware or software problem. Try to resart in Safe Mode
and gives me Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Command, last known
config. and none of these work.
Is the hard drive gone bad? Pls. help!
Thanks,

Hi, Al.
multi(o)disk(o)ordisk(0)partion(1)windows\sys32\drivers

Most of that looks like a line out of boot.ini. But the final part
(sys32\drivers) doesn't look right at all.

How did you happen to see this message? Which "2nd CD" could it be talking
about?

Tell us what you were doing when this message appeared. Were you installing
WinXP itself? Or an application? (Which application?) Or just trying to
boot the computer?

The fix may be as easy as booting from the WinXP CD-ROM, choosing the Repair
option, and running bootcfg to let it rewrite C:\boot.ini. But it may be
more serious. We can't see your computer, so you'll have to tell us enough
to give us a chance to help you.

Thanks, Peter.

I missed that line. I don't have a 2nd CD because I use the Retail version
of the WinXP CD-ROM.
