I get this message when I know that the file is not write-
protected. Even with a blank folder, the message appears.
I am administrator on computer:

Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot create or replace so and so: access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and
that the file is not currently in use.

How can I get around this. I try removing the check in
the Read only box, but it won't allow it. The Apply
becomes grayed out.

for XP HOME Reboot into SAFE MODE
Log on as the user, which has to be an administrator account.

Then using Windows Explorer go to the files location on the disk
and Right Click the particular files or programs (exe's). then
choose properties.....

Because you booted in safe mode you now have a new tab button
up the top called "security" which won't be there when you reboot !

In here is where I let you look around while I piss off down the Pub.

But what you gotta do is take back ownership of the files by
choosing advanced and take ownership, selecting the users account
that you want to own the file(s) etc then choose, look you'll figure it
out and even if you don't, you can always call
Bill Gates, he'll be expecting you!

In Bill We Trust !
