I am getting the following error message and not sure how to fix it:

Account: 'TLZ', Server: 'mail.tlzconsulting.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR Invalid command.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Go to Tools, Accounts, select the mail.tlzconsulting.com account,
Properties, Servers, make sure the option "Log on using Secure
Password Authentication" is unchecked.

Gary,

Thank you so much. I knew it was something easy, but could not figure it
out. Thanks again for your help!

You should not willy-nilly try solutions that haven't been specifically
recommended for your issue. Each issue is a little different, and may
require custom advice. If you get an error message, right-click on it,
copy, then paste it into a reply here. That error message has the
diagnostic information I need to provide you with a custom resolution.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'cariewoody', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

okay... I didn't willy-nilly this time. Here is what is coming up when I
try to send and receive.. Can you help this willy -nillier please?...thanks.

Don't expect instant responses. We responders are unpaid volunteers
who show up here when our schedule permits.

The error message does not reveal anything obvious. Untimely
termination of a connection with the server is often caused by
interference from an antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
