I did a windows easy transfer to move my files from my xp to vista. Somehow
Outlook Express got transferred. I thought I had deleted it from the vista
system but today when I attempted to check my email I received the following
error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account:
'pop.charter.net (1)', Server: 'localhost', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Does anyone
know why this is popping up and is there somewhere else I can go to remove
the Outlook Express or is there a way to reinstall windows mail?
Frustrated!!!!!

What makes you think Outlook Express (OE) was transferred to
your Vista computer? It is not possible to install OE in Vista.

The error message you included indicates that your antivirus
program may be interfering with your email. See

On the face of it your mail account is messed up. It is looking at your
PC for the server (Server: 'localhost').

Put in the correct settings as per your ISP and double check the Server
Authentication and SSL settings.
