Hi there:
At boot I get a window titled "UPSMFC40.EXE - Bad Image"that says "The
application or DLL C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINSTSVC\WinGenerics.dll is not a valid
Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette". I can
close this windows with several tries but it keeps popping up. It does not
seem to do anything visual except aggravate the heck out of me. Please help.

You have malware on your computer.

Do the preparatory work here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Then run Swandog46's Aproposfix:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe

It would be smart to go through the rest of the general malware removal
steps at the first link too. Malware is like cockroaches or ants - if
you've got one, you've probably got More Than One.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

"Don't Panic"
Thanks Malke for the prompt and excellent reply. It would have been somewhat more convenient if I was able to print the Malware section of your post. Thanks again for the help.

I don't quite understand what you mean. There is nothing preventing you
from printing out the information on my website.
