Hi,

I've seen this error before but I don't know how to reproduce it.

The error I am dealing with is "Files that are needed for Windows have ... "
"Please insert your Windows 2000 CD ...". This is followed by two buttons,
one that says 'Cancel' and the other is 'Continue'.

The problem I am having is that this error usually happens on a PC that
belongs to someone in my user community, and they like to select 'Cancel'.
Then they call for help and say 'Can you fix it ?'. Does anyone know how I
can reproduce this error? Is there a program in the system that can be
check the integrity of the O.S.?

Thanks in advance<

If there is a request for the W2K CD, the user was attempting to install or
upgrade a feature not installed or upgraded before (e.g. Outlook
functionality). Simply ask the user what they were installing or upgrading
and repeat the process. You will be asked for the CD.

The OS integrity is OK so checking that probably won't help, but the W2K CD
can be used to do that too. Boot from the CD and before there is an install,
a check for current OS systems is made and an offer is made to check and
repair the current installation.
