Error message

I wasn't sure if this is where I should post this
question. When I tried to open my add and remove I
received the following
an exception occurred while trying to
run "shell32.dll.Control_RunDLL"C:\WINDOWS\System32
\appwiz.cpl", add or remove programs

I have tried to restore my systems using yesterdays date
but I still get this message

Please Help
 
Click on command prompt in all programs.Type in window
sfc /scannow
(notice the space between sfc /)Click enter on your
keyboard.When prompted,put in XP CD in CD-ROM.Exit XP
menu page,and let search for missing file.Reboot when
finished....Good luck.
