Lance

don't know if this is the right place to ask this ?, but
i need any help i can get. my computer is having MAJOR
problems, finally i have reset everything to nothing and
reformatted all the drives so that there is nothing at
all on the computer. i went to install windows 2000, and
get this error message: \:386\ntkrnlmp.exe error code 4,
does anyone know what this means??? please help!

Error code 4 is the system cannot open the file. If you are installing from CD, see if the disk is dirty or scratched. Hopefully a
little alcohol and lintfree cloth can solve this.

Hi Lance,
The "error code is 4" error can and often does indicate a faulty RAM module.
You should run hardware diagnostics against the computer, and/or replace the
RAM strips, then format and install again.
