Error message while installing Windows updates

Hi All
Did anyone face the problem with instlling downloaded from
MS website windows xp sp1 updates, producing error
message "The software you are installing has not passed
Windows logo testing to verify it's compatibility with
windows xp ..." (!!!???)
Would appreciate Any idea what could have cause this and
how to deal with that.

That most likely means you are using an unregistered
version of Windows. Most of the pirated copies of XP were
released before the SP1 update. When Microsoft made SP1,
they made it reference your installation ID and
crosschecked it with a database comprised of known hacked
liscenses.

That's why you're getting the error, because SP1 is
identifying your computer as an unliscensed recipient.
