Hi Kevin,

Start here:

Error Message When You Install or Start an MS-DOS or 16-Bit Windows Based
Program
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324767

The error message you see at logon indicates there is a 16 bit program in
the startup group. Start/run msconfig, and disable it from the startup tab
(might take a little bit to figure out which one it is).

Hi, Kevin.

In addition to Rick's advice, take another look at the error message. The
extension on the autoexec file probably is .nt, not .nEt. When running the
MS-DOS emulator, the files config.nt and autoexec.nt handle some of the jobs
that were done by config.sys and autoexec.bat when running true MS-DOS.

And please turn off CAPS LOCK. ALL CAPS went out when we upgraded from the
original TRS-80. ;^{ Now, it is considered SHOUTING and WE DON'T LIKE IT.
