error message when opening CD

I have saved several Power Point Presentations to CDs. Unfortunately I get a warning message on some of them that says, "Opening this the last time caused a serious error. Do you want to continue?" Naturally, I am afraid to open them, as I don't know what harm will befall me or my computer if I do so? What will happen? Should I ignore the message? How can I fix and save the presentation?
 
Stop saving the things directly to CD, or you'll eventually end up with no
file at all because it will be totally corrupt.

Instead, save the file to your harddrive. Then use your CD burning software
to burn the files to CD.
