Just last week, one of the users I support started getting an error message
when she was downloading a file from a website that she had no problem
downloading from before. The error message is "To help protect your security,
IE has blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here
for options." If she looks at the options, she has the ability to download
the file. Why are we suddenly getting this message when the we never had
problems with the site before? The user is downloading Excel reports from the
site, and with 30 or more to be done per day, this has added extra steps and
time to her job.

It's also making her machine much more secure.

If you're supporting SP2 users, you should be familiar with the following:

The user probably upgraded to SP2 - which instituted this new functionality
as a safety measure to prevent sites from downloading stuff to users without
their knowledge.

Thank you very much for your input and help! I really appreciated the URL's
that you passed along.

Thanks Ron! She had indeed upgraded to SP2. What confused me was that she
upgraded over a month ago, and supposedly these problems just showed up. She
says that she didn't have the Information Bar before last week...

Yeah, uh-huh.
