The following error message appears when defragging my PC's hard drive
using PerfectDisk 7.0:

"PDEngine.exe - Corrupt File
The file or directory C:\???? is corrupt and unreadable. Please run
the Chkdsk utility."

I've rebooted several times, but that hasn't solved the problem. The
Disk Defragmenter tool that comes with Win2K works fine, but I'm
concerned about this error message. Error messages are also generated
when running Norton Disk Doctor.

The OS is Win2K Pro. File system is NTFS. And the PC has a Promise
TX2000 RAID card with two drives attached and is running in Mirror
mode.

Thanks for any assistance.

And have you done as it asked:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.
2. Type chkdsk C: /F /R and press enter.
3. When prompted to schedule for next restart, type Y.
4. Restart.
