Error Message trying to open presentation

I am receiving the following error message when trying to open a presentation:

You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry
policy setting.

Can anyone help?

This is usually caused by trying to open a very old file in either 2007 or
2003 sp3.

Let us know which version you have and if you know the age or version of the
file you are trying to open.

I have the same issue. I have a 2007, and not to sure how old the other
version is? '98?
