Error message re: deleted folder

We use Outlook 2002. A while ago we 'lost' our contact folder. We were able
to restore the information to the contacts folder in the archive folders list
and I have figured out how to get it back into the contact folder in the
personal folders list, but when we open a new message and click 'To' or when
I click tools>address book, this is the message that I get:
"The address list cannot be displayed. The contacts folder associated with
this address list couldn't be opened;it may have been moved or deleted, or
you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove this folder
from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help."
I have picked up lots of help from this site, but I still can't figure out
if I can get rid of this message. I have checked the properties of the
contacts folder and it is linked to the Outlook Address Book (although the
OAB is empty). Obviously the information in the contacts folder was deleted
at one point, but it has now been restored.

I tried to follow these directions but when I go to Tools>/e-mail
accounts>Vew or change...>next the Outlook Address Book is listed but I
think it is empty because when I go to Tools>Address book> I get the same
error message but then a box opens and if I select 'Show names from: the
Outlook Address Book' it says there are no entries. I tried following the
directions for 'How to Mark your contact Folder for Use with your address
Book' but that didn't fix things either.

If the Outlook Address Book is present in your profile, then the next step
is to bring up the Properties dialog for your Contacts folder and check the
Outlook Address Book box on that dialog.

I right clicked the contacts folder>properties>Outlook Address Book tab>and
check off the box that says 'Show this folder as an e-mail address book'
The name of the folder in the box is 'contacts'
Is that what you mean?
I didn't actually have to check the box. It was already checked. I think I
tried that a while ago as I read it somewhere on this site. My contacts work,
I'd just like to get rid of that annoying error message.

The easiest method would be to use Tools | E-mail Accounts to remove the
Outlook Address Book, restart Outlook, then add it back in.
