I'm running XP Pro and Outlook Express 6. I also have the McAfee virus
scanner and spam blocker, and I've installed the google toolbar with popup
blocker activated.

My problem is when I log onto XP, a dialogue box pops up and says "Either
there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill
the messaging request. Please run Outlook and set it as the default mail
client"

I can see where I have set Outlook Express 6 as my default mail client--what
is the messaging request that the dialogue box refers to, and what can I do
to keep it from popping up each time log on?

Not sure if this is the solution but try setting OE as default in IE as
well....

Start Internet Explorer, select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Select the "Programs" tab on the options window, then select "Outlook
Express" as the program to use for email

Tried that--no luck.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/defaultl.htm

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

If that isn't enough, see this article:
"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:

You might also want to try this:

Restores OE to the E-mail clients list in Internet Options

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
