Error message on Word 2000

I have a problem with Word 2000. I can't open the problem
at all. I get an error message that says "Winword has
caused an error in Winword.exe". I have tried to reinstall
and to delete the whole program and reinstall to no avail.
Can someone help me with this problem. Thank you
