My PC was infected by a worm (I think it was W32.Kwbot.F.Worm ) this summer so I took it to my computer guy who, after much effort was able to delete it. There is however one annoying carryover. On startup, I'm getting an error message "cannot find beta.exe". I've done a search on my PC for "beta.exe" but didn't find it anywhere.

Have you checked the StartUp folder in Start Menu for an shortcut named
"beta"?
In addition, you can use msconfig.exe to check whether there is a reference
of this program in startup.

To open the msconfig,
1. Click Start and click Run,
2. Type msconfig in the Run Dialog Box and press OK.
3. In MSCONFIG, click the startup tab
4. See if there is a reference to this program "beta.exe", if it is found,
uncheck the corresponding command, this can prevent Windows from trying to
load the program during startup.
5. Restart your computer
