error message "Multimedia audio compression" must be installed

This message appears when I try to install a program called Simply Messenger Pro, a fax program . How do I turn on MM Audio Compression and where is it located. I am using XP pro, audigy sound card, and generic 56k modem. Thanks for your help. Bud
 
I got the same error when installing a game on my WinXP system.

The problem was that the game was just old. It was designed for Windows 95/98. It just doesn't know
about NT/2000/XP. I ignored the error and continued the installation. When all was installed, the
game runs just fine.

Perhaps your software is just too old???
