Error message from inserted object in PowerPoint

Has anyone gotten the following message when trying to
invoke and .exe file from within a PowerPoint presentation?
"You are about to activate an inserted object that might
contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer.
Make sure the object is from a trustworthy source. Do you
want to continue?"

I want to launch an app from my presentation - and not
have this message come up first.

Depending on the version of PPT and your security settings, it might solve
the problem if you create an action button and set its action to Run Program
(your EXE file).
 
OK, let's go step by step then:

What version of PowerPoint do you have?
What's the current PowerPoint security level and what're the settings on the
Trusted Sources tab of the security settings dialog box?
What exactly did you do to create the action?

And would you do me a flavor and quote back the whole message in your reply?
I can barely remember what I had for breakfast much less a message thread
for a few days running. ;-)
