Error Message DVD won't play

I have a new computer with a Dedicated 256MB video card - PCI Express 16x (6
months old). Everything was fine, until recently, now I cannot play DVDs,
error message says I need to change colour sttings or screen resolution. I
have done this - no good. DVDs played before without a problem. I have
obviously upset some setting somewhere, but I can't find it.
