Error Message during attempted update after re-install

After installation of new MB/HD/Radeon 9500 pro under XP Pro...update
attempted..."Thanks for your interest....you must be running A Windoze
based operating system to utilize this update"
If this happened to someone else, i would consider it a classic moment
in Computer Hilarity...however....ARRRRRRGH!
Any help/fixes appreciated!
 
A common problem for those that use a third party firewall and don't disable
the native one first.

Thanks for the reply!
Was necessary to disable both the native firewall and norton internet
security first...Did continue with Norton AV enabled.

A common problem for those that use a third party firewall and don't disable
the native one first.
