I have a 2000 server, SP4 that when I reboot and it comes to the
screen saying Preparing Network connections it pops up with the
following:

The procedure entry point GetJobA could not be located in the dynamic
link library SPOLLSS.dll.

With an OK button as the only option.

Doesn't seem to affect server performance, nothing shows in the event
log. I just want to know what it's about and maybe how to get rid of
it.

Thanks,

James

You probably mean spoolss.dll, not spollss.dll. This is a library
that controls the print spooler. I suggest you run sfc.exe
(System File Checker) to confirm the integrity of this file.

You probably need to updated drivers for your hp printers.

Nope, double checked the error message and it is SPOOLSS.dll <==
that's exactly the way the message reads, capital file name and small
letters for the .dll

I see the file in \system32 <== I figured that it was part of the
print spooler, but a google and a check on the MS KB didn't come up
with that exact error message anywhere.

I did finally find an a log with event id 26, source application
pop-up
Application popup: spoolsv.exe - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure
entry point GetJobA could not be located in the dynamic link library
SPOOLSS.dll.

Does this ring a bell with anybody?

Well, we do have a couple of HP 4100's in house. I'll try updating
the drivers.

Curious as to how you zeroed in on it being an HP printer as compared
to any other brand.

No problem.
