I have just set up a new account for my sons. It was ok last night but today
when they access the account there is an error message saying `access
denied`. If you click on it about 5 times the box disappears and you can use
the account as normal. However something isnt right and I want to know what.
I have deleted the account and started again but its still the same.
Thanks Ann-Marie

Hi Ann-Marie,

I would suspect that it is not the account, but rather something (a program)
that is loading in the account that is attempting to access a file that
their profile does not have access to. When you initially set up the
account, all was well? Only after exiting and re-entering did it fail? Did
you/they install any programs into that profile (especially one that
required admin privileges to install)?

As the boys are only young then I know they havent installed anything as I
watch them like hawks and I have given them a limited account....the only
thing I have noticed is another error report concerning my webcam. Could this
be the problem?.... and if so can I delete it from their account without it
interferring with mine? Thanks for your help so far x

You are right as I have just made their account comp administrator and theres
no problem.......if I cant get it sussed then I will have to leave it as it
is, hide as much as possible on toolbars and keep a close eye on them lol

Hi,

What you likely need to do is disable the program from loading at startup
(boot). Run MSCONFIG and check the startup tab for any mention of the
software and uncheck it. You can still use it from your account, just don't
have it loading at system startup.

Hi Ann-Marie,

This message was just Windows reminding you that you had made changes via MSCONFIG, and offering you the opportunity to continue, or to put everything back for a "normal" boot.

Hi Doug....ok, so its ok to just continue then I take it.......I will try
again as there is alot of stuff on my startup that I dont need and it will
also make things abit quicker.
Thanks Doug
