saying Access Denied. Does anyone know how I can repair this problem. Thanks
for the help. Hopeful

Hi,
There may be restrictions in the registry, but let's try an easier
(possible) fix first- deleting the (possibly damaged) Favorites folder.

You don't mention the OS (Windows version) I'll assume XP.

With Windows Explorer, browse to your Favorites folder at [C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Favorites] Create a new folder named something like
SavedFavorites in [C:\Documents and Settings\UserName] See if you can copy
or move Favorites from the Favorites folder to the new folder. If unable to
do that, go to IE> File> Import and Export> Export Favorites> Select the
Favorites folder> Select "Export to a file"> Choose a destination. Verify
that a Bookmarks.htm file was exported and contains the Favorites.

[Still assuming Windows XP] Then login as another user with administrator
privileges, or from the machine's default administrator account (startup in
safe mode) and delete the Favorites folder from Windows Explorer. It will be
at [C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites]

315222 - A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=315222

Restart and a new Favorites folder will have been created. Import or copy
Favorites into that folder.

Hope this helps,
Don
