Error message #52

Using Windows ME I've tried to install internet explorer 6.0 and get the following error message

Cannot make directory entry error #52
Setup could not finish opening a file on your destination disk
source file: C:/Windows/Temp/IXP006/iesetup.in
destination file: C:/Windows/INF/Iesetup.001=C:/Windows/Temp/IXP006.TMP/iesetup.in

What can I try to do to get internet explorer 6.0 to install.
