Error message 0X80004005

After I finished installing XP, SP1a, and various
patches, I now cannot log on. I get an error message
stating that:
"A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking
the license for ths computer. Error Code: 0X80004005"

It's a legal copy. I haven't been connected to the
internet until after I had installed the patches. How
can I get the phone number to call for activation and
give them the number if I can't log on?

HELP!!

Do a repair install to fix system files from XP CD!
