When i startup my pc, it runs up a warning of low on memory and paging blah blah.
Then it will auto reboot itself and everything repeats.
Its also the same when i use F8 into safe mode. It doesn't help.
Can anyone help me?

I also get the low memory/paging problem but only after using the comp for a bit....mine then freezes and takes ages to shut down....its a problem with the RAM but what i dont know?!

the problem is probably that your stick of RAM has either
been damaged, gotten fried, isnt fully connected or
filled up. for now, lets deal with the later of the four.
turning your computer off doesnt clear off your RAM. turn
off your computer, and flip the power switch on the back
of your computer. let it sit for a few minutes and then
flip it back on. when there is still electricity running
through the RAM, it keeps everything in memory. when you
reboot, everything should be wiped from your RAM, and
your computer should work fine. if this doesnt work, take
the side off your computer, and lightly push in the RAM.
if you dont know what it looks like, it will be attached
to the motherboard, it'll be prolly 3-4 inches long and
will stick about and inch off the board. if the
grey/white/tan/off-white clips on the ends arent fully in
place, push lightly on the RAM until it pops into place.
if its neither of these problems, i suggest taking your
computer to someone that can tell you if the RAM needs to
be replaced or not.

How much RAM does your computer have? (perhaps you're low
on memory). XP will run with 256 but this is minimal -
512 is much better. With XP more RAM = better. If you
have lots of RAM then perhaps not all of it is working
correctly - this could be responsible for the symptoms you
report.

The relationship between RAM and the paging file is
covered at these two sites:

http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertzone/columns/mcfed
ries/03june16.asp

http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.php

You can also conserve RAM by turning off non-essential
programs that start (and consume RAM) when you boot the
computer, but that you don't use. See:

Hope something here helps.
