I was trying to re-install a network adapter. I
uninstalled a network adapter and when i restarted the
server i got this error "Error loading the operating
system." Do anyone of you know what possible steps i can
follow inorder to get the server successfully boot the OS.

Why is this error caused in general?

Thanks

It sounds as if you had some fundamental disk problems.
To start with, I would find out if your hard disk is still
readable and if Win2000 is visible:
- Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com.
- Run fdisk.exe and check if you have an active partition.
- Run ntfsdos.exe /L:FGH and check if F:\winnt exists.
- Format a floppy disk on some other Win2000/XP PC.
- Type this command: type f:\boot.ini, then make a file
"boot.ini" on this floppy disk with the same lines.
- Copy these files from the i386 folder of your Win2000 CD
to your floppy disk: ntdetect.com, ntldr.
- Boot your server with this floppy disk.

The next steps will depend on the outcome of the previous
tests.
