error loading operating system

hi

I have swopped the hard drives from a dell dimension2350(120 gb) with the
hard drive from a comaq pc(40gb)The 40gb hard drive installed ok and I just
needed to load the drivers and reactivate but when I try to install the 120
gb hard drive in the compaq pc I get the following message-error loading
operating system.I have teied a repair with the XP cd but I am still getting
the same message.Is there something different dell does when they install XP
at there factory or does anyone Know a solution to this Problem

Most OEM operating system supplied with commercial PCs are BIOS locked and
will not load on another setup even with a repair install.
